Gelidberry

Gelidberry is Grimluk’s wife and mother to their nameless son. Some might call her pushy; others might say she just wants what’s best for her family. Grimluk (smartly) keeps his opinion on the matter to himself. But one thing’s for sure: If it wasn’t for Gelidberry, Grimluk would never have ended up in the Magnifica, as a hero putting an end to the reign of the evil Pale Queen.

It all started because Gelidberry was hungry. She could count her ribs clear through her clothing, plus she had a baby to feed! So when Wick, a fellow diner at their inn, mentioned a paid position fighting with the Army of Light, Gelidberry insisted on learning more—in spite of her husband’s reluctance. And when the Wick told her that no one was paid as well as the Magnifica, Gelidberry insisted that her husband could do that. Even though she didn’t exactly know what that was. But as the saying goes, without risk there is no reward . . . especially when you don’t have to do the risk taking yourself.
